Dye Fabric with Chalkpaint

Dye Fabric with Chalkpaint

Did you know you can dye curtains with Granny B’s Chalkpaint?

Alicia created these ombre-dyed curtains using Dove Grey.

Here’s how she did it:

- First she bleached the original curtains to remove the colour using a mixture of Jik (2 cups) & Domestos (half a cup).

Let the fabric sit overnight and half a day, then wash the item in the washing machine to get the bleach out, and then hang them to dry.

- Mix a 50ml pot of Granny B’s Dove Grey in half a bathtub of water.
- Soak the curtains halfway into the paint & water mixture for about ¾ hour, & then halve the half and soak the ends for a day.
- Dry on a washing line without letting it touch the white. Once dry, iron the curtains to seal the colour.
